As the nation's largest recycler and waste management service provider, WAMCO envisions to provide environmentally responsible and sustainable waste management services for all Maldivian communities. The corporation currently provides daily trash collection services for households and businesses, on demand waste pickup services among others.
Designation - Marketing and Public Relations Officer
As the marketing and public relations officer at WAMCO, I'm tasked with using all forms of media, and communication channels to build, maintain and advance the company's relationships with its customers, media and other relevant stakeholders. The role also requires that I act as the main media focal point, delivering key messages and changes to operations while balancing effective communication and media management skills that align with the company's objectives. I'm also responsible for organising, attending and speaking on behalf of the company at press conferences, seminars and TV appearances. As part of my role as the PR officer of WAMCO, I conduct seminars for school and college students on adopting sustainable living and waste management habits.
I am also signed by the National Broadcaster of the Maldives, Public Service Media(PSM) in a two year contract, where I host a weekly radio show/podcast about the budding tech scene of the Maldives. The show is conceptualised and hosted by myself, and we are currently working on the initial preparations for our 2nd season.
